Lautrec, Albi and Castres are places nearby well worth a visit. If you want to go a bit further, Toulouse is also a recommendation. In the countryside of Lautrec, the pink garlic region, you'll find farms, restaurants, local shops and vinyards where you can try and buy local produce. You can also go horse riding, cyckling, trekking, swimming, or visiting a local festival in one of the towns nearby. The area is full of historical sites worth visiting, so don't hesitate to ask us, your hosts at Cadalen, about details. We'll be happy to recommend places to visit, according to your interests.
Here are some examples:
Lautrec: A beautiful medieval village, windmill, clog maker, restaurants – for example Café Plum (concerts, workshops, poetry readings, “apéro”, lunch, dinner, book shop, and a very nice atmosphere).
Albi: Sainte Cécile Cathedral, Toulouse-Lautrec museum
Castres: The Coche d’eau riverboat “Le Miredames”, Goya museum, Jean Jaurès museum
